KIDS CADSAS APRIL TOURNAMENT REPORT
Firstly, I would like to thank all parents and guardians for taking their children fishing for the junior kids all species competition. We had a fantastic entry of 43 junior anglers.
It was a very successful tournament all around which ran from April 1st through till the end of April. Children could fish any two days of their holiday and submit their scores. The competition was run using Keepnet and was a catch, measure and release process. It was run on the same scoring system as the senior CADSAS competition. It is a species competition which is then multiplied by weight to achieve your score.
The value of teaching our children catch and release fishing for a sustainable fishing future is so important and must be instilled in them from the very beginning of their fishing careers. Over 21 different species of Gamefish were caught and recorded: including some outstanding catches.
A prize purse has been put together where each and every junior will be receiving a prize. A big thank you to Dusty Wilcox for making a donation towards the prizes, we will set a date and have a prize giving for the junior anglers in due course.
We look forward to continuing this tournament for many years to come and improving year on year. I’m sure we can all agree there is nothing more enjoyable than watching the pure joy and excitement from juniors catching fish and learning to compete with ethics and integrity.
Look forward to seeing you all for CADSAS 2024.
Tight lines
Cheers
Liam
